Artplace is a Paverpol Creative Learning Center. Two Certified Paverpol Instructors are available to answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and offer ideas for creating many kinds of projects with Paverpol.

Paverpol is such a versatile medium that Artplace offers a number of classes to cover the many ways to use it. Beginner to professional can benefit from the Paverpol Creative Learning Center.

April 26, 2008 - Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM
Inspirational Re-Purpose. Class will bring a painting from the artist's personal collection of inactive works. Bring a painting from the past or present that just doesn't make the grade or needs to be revitalized or one you want to push to a new level. Paverpol medium will be used to enhance, embellish, and modify the painting. Bring painting, paint, and brushes. Paverpol and various materials will be provided. Contact us for more information.

May 10, 2008 - Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM
Sitting Figure using a pedestal support and the Artplace fiber wrap building technique. All required materials included in the class fee. If a theme or particular personalization is desired, class participant may bring a base, fabric pieces, small jewelry or any other material that they might want incorporated into the sculpture. May 24, 2008 - Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM
Mixed Media on canvas using Paverpol medium with various fibers and fabrics to create a 3 dimenstional painting on canvas. The class time will be used for constructing the mixed media composition in preparation for paint, demonstration of painting techniques. Some painting may be done depending speed of construction and drying of Paverpol. Mixed media supplies and 20" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas provided. Bring acrylics and brushes for painting and any fiber, jewelry, or other materials you would like to incorporate into the art. Contact us for more information.

June 14, 2008 - Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM
Free Form Figure or Abstract Sculpture using a wire frame support and the Paverpol air dry clay process. June 27-28 - 10 AM to 5 PM Friday and Saturday.

About the instructors...

Doug Simpson is a professional artist and teacher who has been trying for over 10 years to perfect a way turn his ideas into finished fine art pieces. He tried many different mediums, techniques, and wild combinations attempting to create what he wanted using his own style and method of working. But most of the known techniques for sculpture involve a series of production steps. Some very expensive and others more time consuming than desired.

Then he discovered Paverpol! This product allows the creation of permanent indoor or outdoor art with hands on intuitive processes. Projects can be completed in a as little as a few hours or detailed, layered, or finessed for days on end. They can be left natural, painted, stained, or glazed.

Shelley Tate Garner is a professional artist, teacher and gallery owner/operator as well an expert custom framer.

She works in many tradional mediums and a very unique media combination that she has personally developed.

Both Shelley and Doug are Certified Paverpol Instructors.
